Car stolen from Vienna recovered near Waverly
VIENNA – A car stolen from a Vienna residence was located near Waverly on Bull Creek Road Wednesday.
Vienna Police Sgt. Mike Pifer said a 2007 Toyota Yaris was stolen from the residence of Bradley Morehead of 809 23rd St.
The owner said the car was taken from his residence between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and was reported to the police as stolen at 8:45 a.m.
At 3:30 p.m. Wednesday a bus driver spotted the car over the hill off Bull Creek Road, Pifer said. Information was unavailable Wednesday night on who the bus driver worked for.
“He tried to get to it, but the hill was too steep,” Pifer said. “It was against a tree in deep brush.”
Pifer said there was minor damage to the exterior of the car. There was no one in the car when it was recovered and the incident is still under investigation, he said.
If anyone has information about the incident or any crime in Vienna, Pifer said, an anonymous tip can be left at vienna police.com.
