Eldon Edward Amick

Eldon was born in Crichton, W.Va., on Oct. 1, 1930. He died on April 30, 2014, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Fla.

Eldon, his wife Barbara (Boone) Amick and family moved to Florida in June of 1970. Eldon retired from the City of Melbourne in May of 1993. He attended Emanuel Methodist Church in Melbourne.

Eldon moved to Parkersburg in 1949, to attend Mountain State College, and after moving to Florida, attended Brevard Community College.

Eldon never forgot his roots in West Virginia. He cherished coming home to visit.

Eldon is survived by his daughter, Charla (Harry) Hoskins of Melbourne, Fla.; sons, Michael (Debbie) Amick of Merritt Island, Fla., and Philip (April) Amick of Melbourne; granddaughter, Morgan Amick; grandsons, Nick Amick, Cody Hoskins and Logan Amick; brother, Wayne of Belpre, Ohio; and sisters, Sharon Anderson of Vienna, W.Va., and Blenda Johnson of Alexandria, Va.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; father, Talmadge Amick; his mother, Ruth (McCutcheon) Amick; an infant son; and a brother, James Wendall Amick.

Eldon cherished the special times spent with his family, especially the Holidays, Birthdays and celebrating events in his family’s life. Eldon will be missed by his family and friends.

His funeral was conducted on May 4, 2014, at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. Entombment followed at The Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Fla.
