Drug take back locations announced
PARKERSBURG – The spring National Drug Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The drug take back is an opportunity for citizens to be rid of unwanted prescription drugs around their home, said the Drug Enforcement Agency’s website.
Officials from across the nation will set up collection points where prescription drugs can be dropped off, keeping them from being used for non-legal purposes, the website states.
Local drug take back locations are in population centers in local counties, officials said.
Wood County drop off locations are CVS Pharmacy, 2323 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg; Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department; State Police barracks at 3828 Staunton Turnpike; Grand Central Mall in the J.C. Penney parking lot; the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department; the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department; and the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department.
Washington County drop off points are the Belpre Senior Center, 1614 Washington Blvd.; the Devola Medical Center parking lot at 4737 Ohio 60 in Marietta; the Buckeye Hills Area Agency on Aging at 1400 Newport Pike in Reno; White Oak Pharmacy at 8465 Ohio 339 in Barlow; Second and Putnam streets in Marietta; Fort Frye High School in Beverly; and Hardware Components Inc. in New Matamoras.
Jackson County drop off locations are Big Lots on Washington Street in Ravenswood; Ripley City Hall, 203 South Church St.; the Kenna Volunteer Fire Department.
Ritchie County drop off points are Rite Aid Pharmacy, 1490 East Main St., Harrisville; the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office, 109 East North St., Harrisville; Hometown Pharmacy 1607 East Main St., Harrisville; and Pennsboro Family Pharmacy at 401-A West Myles Ave.
In Roane County the drop off is at the West Virginia State Police barracks at 100 Triplett Road, Spencer.
Tyler County drop off points are the Sistersville Fire Department and the Middlebourne Volunteer Fire Department.
In Pleasants County, drugs may be taken to Phillips Pharmacy, 329 Second St., St Marys.
In Calhoun County, prescriptions may be dropped off at the Calhoun Committee on Aging at 105 Market St. in Grantsville.
In Doddridge County, the drop off point is at the Doddridge County Senior Citizen Center at 403 West Main St. in West Union.
The Wirt County drop off location is at the courthouse, at 100 Court Square in Elizabeth.
