Par Mar Stores kicks off campaign
PARKERSBURG – Par Mar Stores will kick off a multi-week campaign to raise funds for the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia from 1-2 p.m. today at its store at 720 Division St.
The statewide campaign will be conducted by the West Virginia Oil Marketers and Grocers Association and will run through Mother’s Day May 12.
The Children’s Home Society has helped more than 13,000 West Virginia children in 2013 and more than 4,000 children are in out-of-home care due to a crisis in the family. Another 1,200 need adoption.
Brightly colored paper flowers will be sold for $1. Proceeds will support child assistance programs, such as emergency child shelters, foster care, adoption, mentoring, early intervention and numerous other family support programs offered by the Children’s Home Society.
