Francis W. Cox
Francis W. “Frank” Cox, U.S. Air Force veteran, age 83, died at his home in Murphytown, W.Va. on Jan. 14, 2014.
He was born in Ritchie County, on Dec. 8, 1930, the son of the late Lloyd W. and Sylvia G. Jones Cox.
He was a 1950 graduate of Harrisville High School, a member of the Murphytown United Methodist Church and retired from the G. E. Chemical Company.
Frank is survived by his wife Betty L. Stansberry Cox; brothers, Samuel L. Cox and Edwin E. Cox, Harrisville;
sister, Glenda Lucille Bransford, Williamsburg, W.Va.; daughters, Mary Ann Testerman, Delbarton, W.Va., Carolyn Cox, Martinsburg, W.Va., Judy (Jim) Prusack, Grantsville, W.Va., and Sandra Cox, Delbarton, W.Va.; step-children Rosalinda Brown, California, Teresa (Allen) Wilson, Washington, D.C., Cathy (Michael) Eckard, Oregon, Charles “Chuck” Stansberry, Ohio, Roxanna (Kenneth) Price, Pennsylvania, Janetta (Ron) Hampton, Maryland, Karlson Stansberry, Maryland, and Jason (Debbie) Stansberry, Maryland; granddaughters, Ruby and Amber Prusack, Grantsville, W.Va.; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Lora Mae Laird Cox; sister, L. Jane Lordeon; brother, David Wayne Cox; son-in-law, Virgil Testerman, and step-son, Stephen Stansberry.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Rev. Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Chevauxdefrise Cemetery, Washburn, W.Va. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon-2 p.m.
