Help Cedar Lakes continue
Since 1950, Cedar Lakes in Jackson County has welcomed Wood County residents and organizations to its lovely grounds and facilities.
The Jackson County Herald and Star News reports that the West Virginia State Board of Education, which helps finance Cedar lakes says it can no longer maintain its approximate $1 million budget shortfall. The state BOE has established a plan to help save Cedar Lakes.
Wood County residents, organizations, and businesses can perpetuate Cedar Lakes by visiting, attending the July 4th Mountain State Arts And Crafts festival, renting the facilities and donating to parks operation. Those who have visited there know the effort is worthwhile.
