Lee Franklin Rader Jr.
On the evening of Dec. 5, 2013, Lee passed away in Hardeeville, S.C., of natural causes, he was 76 years old.
He was born in Summersville, W.Va., on May 21, 1937, the second son of the late Lee Franklin Rader Sr. and Mable Ashley Rader.
Lee is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lewellen Rader; their four children, Regina Lynn and her husband, John Mark Stone, of Silsbee, Texas, Lee Franklin Rader III and his wife, Gracie Ann, of Smyrna, Ga., the Rev. Richard Keith Rader and his wife, Dedra Mae, of Coolville, Ohio, and Susan Renee and her husband, Gregory John Baker, of Coolville, Ohio; their seven grandchildren, Leslie Ann and her husband, Steve Wolfhard, Lee Franklin Rader IV, Rebecca Suzanne Rader, John Timothy Stone, David Lee Stone, Katelyn Nichole Baker and Austin Michael Baker; one brother, Hugh Clark Rader and his wife, Nancy; and two sisters, Lumina Catherine Mick and Phyllis Jean Sheppard.
Lee and Carolyn were married in 1959. He graduated from Glenville College and served active duty in the National Guard. They moved to Parkersburg in 1961 where he taught science at Jackson Middle School in Vienna for several years. He opened Park Motors on Seventh Street in Parkersburg and in 1978 opened Rader Motors in Belpre, retiring there in 2000. In 1968 they moved the family to Coolville, Ohio, and he was an active member at Coolville United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 337. In 1993, he and Carolyn relocated to Belpre, Ohio, and attend Belpre Heights United Methodist Church.
He was a beloved husband, brother, father and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, Ohio, with the Rev. Rod Brower officiating. Graveside services will follow at Coolville, Ohio. Viewing for friends and family will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 8 p.m.
