Pomeroy man facing attempted murder charges
POMEROY, Ohio – Neal D. Bonecutter, 41, of Pomeroy was arrested Thursday afternoon on two counts of attempted murder after an altercation at his residence on Ohio 143, police said.
Bonecutter allegedly shot Allen Brickles in the lower leg before shooting at Melissa Dickens as she fled the residence, according to Meigs County sheriff’s deputies. Brickles was transported by EMS to Holzer Medical Center and later transferred to Cabell Huntington Trauma Unit. His condition is unknown.
A search of the residence, occupied by Dickens and Bonecutter, turned up drugs and “a large amount of cash,” the sheriff’s department said.
Police said more charges are pending and the case is under investigation.
Bonecutter is incarcerated in the Middleport Jail pending a court appearance.
