Police release Erickson vandalism video

PARKERSBURG – City police officers have released video surveillance and images of two men suspected of vandalizing the concession stand and outbuildings at Erickson All-Sports Facility off Camden Avenue in south Parkersburg.

The men are suspected of entering the facility sometime after 9 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Sgt. Greg Collins with the Parkersburg Police Department said Detective T.A. Davis has been working on the case with Don Brown, a security guard with the Wood County Board of Education.

“(Davis) and Don Brown worked together most of (Wednesday) analyzing the video surveillance footage,” Collins said. “There are some leads in the case but we are not sure how good they are at this point.”

Collins said police detectives will continue to process the evidence in the case and follow up on potential leads.

The vandals did about $6,000 worth of damage to doors, windows, appliances, cabinets and fire extinguishers on the sports facility.

Also, items such as food, drinks and football equipment were stolen. Police were able to recover most of the equipment.

A video of the suspects was released by police Wednesday night in hopes people would recognize the vandals. A photo of one of the suspects released Monday on the Parkersburg South Football Facebook page was circulated to about 337 people by Wednesday.
