Together with their parents, Amber Dougherty and Brad Gibbs announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Russell and DeDe Dougherty of Chuluota, Fla. She is the granddaughter of Bernice Davis and her husband, Martin Arteche, of Davenport and the late Cal Davis, and Don and Marshal Thompson of Oviedo, Fla. She is a 2007 graduate of Oviedo High School and a 2010 and 2011 graduate of Seminole State with a degree in architectural drafting and construction technology.

She is employed as a docket technician at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Orlando, Fla.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Brian and Mary Gibbs of Washington, W.Va. He is the grandson of Kelly and Geneva Gibbs, Charlotte and Dave White, and the late Nelson and Janice Bonar. He is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg with an bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is serving in the United States Navy as an aviation air rescue swimmer.

An outdoor wedding is planned for Nov. 16 at Hidden Rivers Resort in North Carolina. The couple are planning a honeymoon in Jamaica.
