Stolen cooler was needed

I am writing this on behalf of the Franciscan Meals, a nonprofit organization that provides home-delivered meals to those unable to obtain their noon meals any other way. It is totally manned by volunteers, using their own cars, time and gasoline.

Meals are prepared by Selby Hospital, Harmar Place and Marietta Center, picked up at those locations (in coolers) and delivered to clients. Two weeks ago, a cooler was taken from the Marietta Center. A young lady was observed entering the center, checked the coolers out and took one that was used to hold the meals for the clients’ lunch. She took the cooler and placed it in a maroon car and left.

We had hoped she was going to use it and then return it to the center, but as yet, it is still missing. It is now theft and we only hope they needed it more than the clients did. The coolers are purchased for about $21 at Wal-Mart, but that is $21 we could have used elsewhere.
