Gun laws won’t solve problems

Quick question: Why is it so difficult for some people to grasp the concept that a gun, a knife, a hand grenade, a RPG – whatever – is just an inert object until taken over and used by a sentient being?

A lot of folks, blinded by their fiercely held ideologies, believe that guns kill. Actually, it’s the gun users who do the killing. The gun is merely the means to an end.

Headline in the paper this morning tells us they are going to pass stringenter gun laws in Connecticut in the wake of the terrible shootings of the schoolchildren. I’d be willing to wager if these new laws had been in effect before that terrible day, they would not have saved one of those kids.

Liberals seem to believe if one has a problem, a new law will make it go away. But it won’t.
