Peggy Eloise Morris, 73, of Parkersburg, passed away April 1, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Aug. 12, 1939, at Rockport, a daughter of the late Gilmore Everett and Dora Mae Clegg Buchanan.
Peggy was a member of the North Parkersburg Baptist Church, the American Legion and the VFW.
She enjoyed fishing and was an animal lover and had a special pet dog named Diamond.
Surviving is her son, Brian Dale Grogan of Parkersburg and her daughter, Deborah Kay (Dave) Garrett of Dover, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Chad (Derena) Garrett, Joshua (Kendra) Garrett, Junelle Garrett, Stephanie (Craig) Sopata, Charis Grogan, Carter Grogan and Kyle Grogan; seven great-grandchildren, Akaysia, Brenton, Olyvia and Madelyn Garrett, Sophia Sopata, Brendon Grogan and Jordan Garrett; two brothers, James (Cheryl) Buchanan of Mt. Giliad, Ohio and Gary Wayne (Linda) Buchanan of Creston, W.Va.; one sister, Nancy Grace (Ira) Kimes of Parkersburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Neil Morris, in 1998.
There will be visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, with a brief service with family members speaking beginning at 8 p.m. Burial of her ashes will be at a later date at the Stoney Bottom Cemetery in Pocahontas County.
The family would like to express thanks to the nursing staff at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Campus and to Dr. William Cartwright for the care shown to Peggy during her sickness.
