Melissa Jean Carr, originally of Vienna, and Scott Anthony Lloyd, originally of Winter Haven, Fla., were united in marriage on Dec. 1, 2012, in a beach-side ceremony in Destin, Fla.
Dr. James Johnston of Searcy, Ark., officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Delmas “Gene” and Naomi Carr of Vienna. She is a 1992 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a 1996 graduate of Harding University at Searcy and a 2002 graduate of Webster University at St. Louis, Mo. She is the human resources director of a local bank in Springfield, Mo.
The bridegroom is the son of Larry and Erma Jean Lloyd of Winter Haven. He is a 1989 graduate of Winter Haven High School, a 1993 graduate of Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala., and a 1994 graduate of Harding University. He works for Di-Comm in Reeds Spring, Mo.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at Tops’l Resort in Florida. The cake was designed, created and transported to Florida for the occasion by lifelong friends of the bride, Bill and Kay Mills of Vienna.
Following a honeymoon in Mexico, a reception was held at Harding University. The cake was designed and created for the occasion by the aunt of the groom, Carol Thornhill of Ozark, Ark.
A local reception was held by the bride’s parents on March 9 at the Camden Avenue Church of Christ in Parkersburg.
