Agnes Lindauer, 96, passed away on March 13 in Parkersburg. She was born in 1916 to the late Frank and Anna (Lesniak) Glod of Donora, Pa.
A longtime resident of Whitehall, Pa. and member of St. Elizabeth’s parish, she lived independently until age 94. She moved to Parkersburg in 2011 to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She will be remembered as a devoted wife; loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister; treasured neighbor; loyal friend; avid gardener; Steelers fan; and a model for aging with grace, beauty and dignity. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Hartig of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Frederick “Fritz” Lindauer (Christie) of Parkersburg; one grandson, Lance Lindauer (Laxmi Shah) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one granddaughter, Michelle Hays (Travis) of Flemington, W.Va.; one great grandson, Cooper Hays; one sister, Charlotte Simmons of Mt. Lebanon, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lindauer; three sisters, Mary Catherine Teese, Adele Sacharov and Ann Sinclair; and two brothers, Walter and John Glod.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 16, beginning at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with the Rev. Father Andy Switzer officiating. Burial will follow the service in Monongahela, Pa., at Monongahela Cemetery on Monday. Visitation will be Saturday two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m..
