Our ongoing holocaust

Not that having an abortion, or even performing an abortion, is any greater sin than my own, or that of almost anyone, for “all have fallen short of the glory of God,” but what if, instead of aborting 55 million Americans in the last 40 years since our Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision, an additional 55 million productive tax-paying Americans were fueling our struggling economy?

Sure, some of that huge number might not have turned out the way we would like, but which of those 55 million lost Americans might have cured cancer, conquered heart disease, wiped out Alzheimer’s, beat Lou Gehrig’s disease, or eliminated mental illness? Is 55 million children over the last 40 years, with thousands more terminated every day for profit – is this not an ongoing holocaust?

Have we passed judgment upon ourselves, by aborting our own hope for our future? As a nation, and individually, our sin is very great, but our risen Savior is far greater than the sum of all the sin we will ever commit! And, our Lord is more than willing to forgive, at our request, and to remove our sin from us “as far away as the East is from the West.”

Forgive us, Lord, please!
