Elks selects Gnage as Citizen of the Year
PARKERSBURG – Marie Gnage, president of West Virginia University at Parkersburg, has been selected as the 2012 Citizen of the Year by Parkersburg Elks Lodge 198.
The banquet honoring Gnage will be at 7 p.m. April 27 at the First Presbyterian Church Hall, 1341 Juliana St., Parkersburg. Tickets for the banquet are $20 and can be purchased at the Parkersburg Elks Lodge, 515 Market St., Rear. Additional banquet information is available by phoning the lodge at 304-422-6546.
Banquet attendees are invited to a reception at the Elks Lodge following the banquet. Refreshments will be available and a welcome will be extended to those attending the “198 Lodge Reception” honoring Gnage.
Ezbai “Ez” Wells Jr., past exalted ruler and past state president, Texas Elks Association, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Wells said Gnage’s administrative leadership in education has contributed much to Parkersburg’s growth and to the Greater Mid-Ohio Valley.
The Parkersburg Elks Lodge Citizen of the Year Award presentation began in 1996. The honoree is selected by a four-member committee, which reviews nominations received from the lodge membership. This year’s lodge committee members are Wells; Dave Roberts, exalted ruler; Mike McNally, lodge trustee; Ray Pyles, past exalted ruler, committee chairman.
