William ‘Red’ Franklin Kelley

William “Red” Kelley, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 17, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 11, 1942, a twin son of the late Mantford and Georgia Lesson Kelley in Barbour County, W.Va.

At an early age, the family moved to Route 14 in Elizabeth, where neighbors and friends knew the family as living in Kelleyville for numerous years. He was a masonry worker by trade, mostly laying brick and block providing remarkable masonry work for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing cards. He appreciated spending time with family, friends and being outside.

He is survived by his children, Donna Jean Kelley of Parkersburg, Tracy Lynn Kelley of Virginia, Della May Lyons of Parkersburg, William “Willy” Franklin (Tonia) Kelley II of Williamstown and Phillip Marjo (Lori) Kelley of Elizabeth; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; an older brother, Mantford Kelley Jr.; and two sisters, Rosetta Adams and Maxine Miller; and Delores Kelley, mother of his children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin brother, Wilbert Francis Kelley; infant brother, Asa Kelley; two older sisters, Kathryn Layner and Della Allen; and Jacqueline (Jackie) DeVore, his girlfriend for over 14 years.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. The Leavitt Family Center will also be available from 4-8 p.m. today for a reception. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glen McBride officiating. Burial will follow the service at Merrill Chapel Cemetery, Elizabeth, W.Va.
